High School Legislative Internship Program Pilot

High School Legislative Internship Program Pilot

On March 19, 2014 the University of Hawai‘i Uehiro Academy for Philosophy and Ethics in Education in partnership with Hawai‘i State Department of Education and the Hawai‘i State Legislature co-sponsored an event for public high school students. The work of the Uehiro Academy was highlighted in the afternoon when p4c Hawai‘i practitioners co-facilitated small group break out sessions with the 2014 High School Legislative Interns (LINK) and close to 100 Hawai‘i State Student Council (HSSC) students. In each small group, Uehiro Academy p4c practitioners and the legislative interns lead the HSSC students in discussion-based philosophical inquiries, which explored legislative bills from the 2014 legislative session. This event represents the innovative and exiting new work being done with civics education and p4c Hawai‘i in the State of Hawai‘i. To learn more see
