In May of 2014 Dr. Amber Strong Makaiau traveled to the Kettering Foundation to participate in the foundation’s Deliberative Pedagogy Work Group meeting. The foundation’s main research question is, “what does it take to make democracy work as it should?” The Kettering Foundation is interested in learning more about p4cHI and the relationship between p4cHI and deliberative pedagogy. Dr. Makaiau is currently working on a book chapter titled, A Citizen’s Education: p4c Hawai‘i Style Deliberative Pedagogy.
